New Hall Inductee

Washington Township High School Inducts Sandy Stockl into WTHS Coaches Hall of Honor

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township High School added another member to its Coaches Hall of Honor on Monday, June 22nd, tabbing long-time girls lacrosse coach Sandy Stockl to its ranks in a surprise ceremony held at the Pride Pavilion.

WTHS Coaches Hall of Honor Executive Committee members Craig Daniels, Jack McGee, and Kevin Murphy were on hand to welcome Stockl as the 19th member of the prestigious group. They were joined by current WTHS lacrosse coach Katie Gill, along with Stockl’s family, friends, and former players.

Established in 2019, the WTHS Coaches Hall of Honor recognizes the contributions of education-based athletic leaders who have contributed to the WTHS community as an interscholastic coach.

Stockl was the first-and-only head coach in the history of the Minutemaids’ girls lacrosse program at the time of her retirement from coaching in 2024. Stockl started the program in 1994 and headed its ranks for 31 years. Her career highlights included:

• 300 career wins
• South Jersey Coach of the Year (2005. 2011)
• New Jersey State Coach of the Year (2011)
• Five-time Olympic Conference champion (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011)
• Two-time South Jersey sectional champion (2009, 2011)
• Three-time Gloucester County Cup champion (2008, 2010, 2019)
• New Jersey Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame inductee (2006)
• Presented with the Bea Marwick Award from the Lacrosse Club of South Jersey (2006)
• Named Northeast Sectional Coach of the Year by the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association (2016)
